If I say I was surprised by the level hypocrisy I maybe lying. The RNC is becoming a joke with Steele at the helm but in fairness it is not all his fault. He did say he was reaching out young African American and Hispanic youth with "slang and hip hop". I know what your saying and yes he said it. I think your absolutely right about the HC debate the GOP just trying to distract us from the issue that the greatest nation on earth can't cover all of it's citizens with basic HC. It is also a great opportunity for obstructionist to advance their anti-choice agenda because currently they do not have to votes to overturn Roe v Wade. Advance their agenda of cutting options for poor women because they can't afford to fight bacck.
IDK about this... I just heard on NPR that the Democrats now want abortion covered in the healthcare bill, but is this really the right move?
People...very conservative people (and I rarely like to use ideological terms, but I feel I must here) are inundating Democrats in Congress with letters and phone calls. Unfortunately, I think their counterparts are not keeping pace. I can't imagine what's going through the heads of these legislators! I just hope they get enough pressure from above (i.e. the party, pelosi, and the Prez).
Jerel, I agree with you one hundred percent about poor women's options: they face some very tough decisions. Hopefully, I think the Democrats will represent them in these trying times.
